Note: GroundsOpsStaff-2ed has been tested with Microsoft Internet Explorer and the following Operating System/Excel Version combinations.

 

Windows 8/Excel 2013

Windows 10/Excel 2016

Windows 10/Excel 365

 

GroundsOpsStaff-2ed requires Windows 8 or Windows 10 and Excel 2007 or Later to run.

Note: The download will self-extract and automatically create two folder in root of your "C\" drive ('C:\GroundsOpsStaff Program Files' and 'C:\GroundsOpsStaff Data'). It is recommended that you print this page before starting your download and Installation.

Downloading and Installing GroundsOpsStaff-2ed:

IMPORTANT NOTE:

• Please review GroundsOpsStaff-2ed Presentation (PDF) before purchasing GroundsOpsStaff to fully understand the basic features that come with the Product Code from APPA and the Upgrades you can obtain from Hunter Consulting and Training.

• In order to keep the price of GroundsOpsStaff-2ed and its upgrades as low as possible, Hunter Consulting and Training is not able to grant refunds after purchases are made. It is very important that you fully review each product before making your purchase.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

• If you do not have Admin Rights for your computer, please review this web page with your IT staff.

• If you have not been granted Administration Rights on your computer you will need to have your IT staff perform the download and installation. It is recommended that your IT staff give you temporary Administration Rights to perform the download and installation and Activation. After the software has been installed by running Setup and after you have used your Product Code and Activation Key to activate the software while logged into your computer under your computer user name, your IT staff can remove your Administration Rights. 

• If your IT staff prefer not to give you temporary Admin Rights and installs the software under a Login Name different from your Login Name, then refer to the User Manual for instructions for making you a Shared User (see Granting Permission for Shared Users to Run GroundsOpsStaff on the Same Computer in the User Manual).

Step to download and install GroundsOpsStaff-2ed:

1. Click on this link (you can run in demo mode for free) Download GroundsOpsStaff-2ed for Excel 2007 and Later to download GroundsOpsStaff-2ed.

2. Click Run.

3. Click Run again at the Unknown Publisher Security Warning box. Click OK and Yes if prompted to do so. Allow time for the files to download from the server to your computer.

4. After reading the prompt box. Click Ok. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use the Browse button. Do not change the "Unzip to folder" input box. Accept the default extract location of "C:\".

5. Click the Unzip button to unzip the files to your hard drive. Click the Close button after the files are unzipped successfully.  

6. Now use the normal Windows File Explorer to open the C:\GroundsOpsStaff Program Files folder.
   IMPORTANT NOTE: If the computer main user does not have administrative rights on the computer, it is recommended that the IT staff give the main user temporary administrative rights and run Setup.exe while logged in under the main user login ID. This will register the application to the main user -- see full download instructions in user's manual. Rights can be revoked after the software is installed.

7. Double click "Setup.exe" and if your computer already has Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 installed, Setup will begin to install GroundsOpsStaff and you can skip to step 9. Most computers will already have .Net Framework 3.5 installed.

8. Depending on your security package the Application Install - Security Warning dialog box will appear informing you that the "Publisher cannot be verified. Are you sure you want to install this application?" Click "Install." Click OK each time you are prompted to do so.

9. GroundsOpsStaff will be installed and the GroundsOpsStaff-2ed Program Manager will be launched.

10. Depending on your Security Package, you may be asked to allow GroundsOpsStaff access to the internet. Select Allow Always and click OK.

11. You may now run GroundsOpsStaff in Demo mode if you have not purchased a product code.

12. If you have purchased a product code, you may request an Activation Key so that you can run GroundsOpsStaff in full feature mode. You can obtain a Product Code from APPA bookstore by purchasing APPA's Operational Guidelines for Educational Facilities: Grounds Second Edition/GroundsOpsStaff -2ed Package. With your Product Code and Activation Key use the Program Activation form to activate GroundsOpsStaff-2ed following the instructions at Activation Key Request and Program Activation.

13. A shortcut to GroundsOpsStaff-2ed will be added to your Start button under Hunter Consulting and Training. To run GroundsOpsStaff-2ed in the future click Start, click All Programs, click Hunter Consulting and Training and then click GroundsOpsStaff-2ed. You may also place a shortcut of GroundsOpsStaff on your desktop and pin it into your Start menu if you wish.  

14. It is highly recommended that your first step after downloading and installing GroundsOpsStaff-2ed be to click the "Help Getting Started" button in the Program Manager and print out and read the pdf document that will open after clicking the "Help Getting Started" button.
